The advantages of comparing DSO138:
1. Can be directly USB or battery powered
2. Support the USB port serial data output
3. Software performance is better, smaller board size and better operating performance
Note:
DSO138mini is sold in kit only, this version SMD elements are soldered, comes with the building instruction.
No enclosure is provided. Users who want enclosure are suggested to consider DSO Shell>>>>Product ID: 1093865

Introduce:
DSO138mini has similar performance as DSO138 but came with significant improvements in power suppy and machenical structure. Unlike DSO138 its power supply was greatly simplified with much less component counts. The scope can run on USB or a single cell 3.7V Li-ion battery which make it much more convenient as a portable device.
DSO138mini make MCU and LCD stay in one PCB to avoid problematic pin-header connections that was used in DSO138. This not only increase product reliability but also allow the main board to become a flexiable general purpose controller. The overall size of DSO138mini is only 2/3 of DSO138 so it is much more suitable for hand-held operation.
Other than power supply and machenical changes DSO138mini has improvements in firmware too. Now its trigger can work reliably under 10us and 20us timebase settings. For example, this photo shows a captured single byte (0x35) sent from a serial port at 115200bps. Waveform data can be outputted through serial port and the data can be easily displayed on PC with help of other software like Gnuplot. This photo shows the same waveform displayed on PC using Gnuplot.
Like DSO138 the MCU of DSO138mini has been programmed. Its main board has been tested before packing. Users only need to solder a few pin-headers to it before use. Most of soldering work for user is with the analog board.
